The following is the procedure to request both macOS and iOS applications from the Apple App store for managed distribution. This is also referred to as the Volume Purchasing Program or VPP.

Applications requested through this process can be automatically distributed to Mac and iOS devices. The applications will be owned by the university and can be redistributed should the initial user no longer need the application or leave the university.

  1. Visit and search for the application you would like to purchase.
    1. If the app is a paid app, note that some applications do offer a volume discount based on the number of copies being purchased.
  2. Once you have found the application you would like to purchase, visit
  3. Once submitted, the purchase process can take up to 3 days to complete.
  4. When the application is ready for deployment, someone from OneIT Client Solutions will reach out to determine which devices should have the purchased applications installed.
  5. The system will deploy the applications until the specific number of licenses you purchased have been deployed.
