A "personal" Dropbox account is an account you created, even if it is only being used for work purposes. It is not managed by UNC Charlotte.

If you've setup a personal Dropbox account using your email address, please change the email address to a address before provisioning your UNC Charlotte Dropbox for Business account

  1. Log into your personal Dropbox account by going to
  2. Click your name in the top right corner and select Settings

  3. On the Profile tab, under the Personal email option, click Change email

  4. Enter the new email address you wish to use (this should NOT be your UNCC email address) and confirm your Dropbox password
  5. Click Update email

  6. You will now log into your personal Dropbox account using this new personal email address and your password


    You will not need to redo any of your sharing when you change your email address. However, all new sharing invitations will need to be sent to the new email you set.
