There are a few issues that have been reported when trying to record or add audio to older (compatibility mode) PowerPoint presentations. 

If your issue isn't resolved with the instructions below, please contact the IT Service Desk at help.charlotte.edu or 704-687-5500 to report the problem.  

  1. Open the desired PowerPoint if not already opened
  2. Click File and Save As
  3. Click Browse

4. Change listed PowerPoint type from PowerPoint 97-2003 Presentation (.PPT) to PowerPoint Presentation (.PPTX) in order to save audio within the presentation.

5. Click Save to update the PowerPoint file format
