Some offices rely on fax services. Using this file request feature may be a substitute. Each unit will need to evaluate specific business process. Level 0 - 2 data can be collected this way from both internal and external customers. 

In certain extreme circumstances, like the Covid-19 Pandemic, Dropbox file request functionality could be used for the collection of Level 3 data.  File request folders used for Level 3 must be stored in a Dropbox Team Folder - see this FAQ for more information. OneIT Security Services must approve all Level 3 data requests.

You can create a file request folder to collect files into Dropbox

  1. Setup your @uncc.edu Dropbox account by following the instructions in this FAQ
  2. Login to dropbox.charlotte.edu
  3. Click Request files

  4. The Create request box will open

    1. Enter a Title - Give your request a name
    2. Change Folder location (optional) - Change where the file will be stored in your Dropbox
    3. Set expiration - Check this box if you wish to set a time for the request to close - if checking pick the desired date
  5. When ready - click Next
  6. The Send file request box will open
    1. You can Copy the Share a link to give to others via Gmail or other methods
    2. Enter email addresses directly into the Email it instead - if entering addresses, you have the option of adding a message
  7. Click Done
