Expired Leave Types

ADMIN LEAVE-COVID 19 EXT.
(PAL - Paid Admin Leave)
Effective Oct 2020. Extended Admin Leave. To be used once FFCRA benefits and employee's accrued leave/PTO are exhausted. Employees may receive COVID19 Paid Leave at 100% of employee’s pay, UP TO 160 hours.
ADVSICK (Adv of unearned Sick)Advance of unearned Sick Leave Accrual. Sick leave should be taken only after the leave has been earned. However, this does not preclude a reasonable degree of flexibility if particular circumstances warrant it. Supervisors are authorized to advance vacation and/or sick leave not to exceed the amount a requesting employee can earn during the remainder of the current calendar year.

BONSALSpecial Annual Leave Bonus awarded July 2018 - Unused hours zero out upon termination or retirement.  No cash value.  Any hours taken during a calendar year will be deducted from the number of annual leave hours that roll to sick leave on January 1.
BONSPLSpecial Annual Leave Bonus - Unused hours zero out upon termination or retirement.  No cash value.  Employee must take time off.
CIVILCivil Leave - example Jury Duty - Regular Hours
COMPETOMandatory Personnel shall be granted equivalent time off on an hour for hour basis for all hours worked during Condition 2 or Condition 3.  This time must be used within 12 months of being awarded and before using vacation or sick leave.

COMSVC - COVID-19Employees who wish to volunteer time with non-profit organizations on COVID-19 activities may use up to 80 hours of expanded Community Service Leave. This special CSL leave expires Dec. 31, 2020, and is counted separately from the employee’s regular allocation of CSL. Employees may use up to 24 of the 80 hours to to volunteer with the Board of Elections to assist with 2020 early voting and/or election day activities.
COMSVC - LiteracyCommunity Service to be used for Literacy  - 45 hour calendar year cap
COMSVC - Tutor/MentorCommunity Service to be used for tutor/mentor  - 36 hour calendar year cap
COVID-Booster UNC System incentive to employees who have received COVID Booster shot by Aug 31, 2022. Hours to be used by March 31, 2023.

LWOPLeave without Pay for time taken with no accruals available
MILITARYPersonnel who are active reserve members are given 120 hours of Military Leave each Federal Fiscal Year (October 1 - September 30) to be paid when absences are needed to attend monthly drills or training.
MILITARY LWOP1. Reserves ordered to State or Federal active duty will be setup with a job with suffix 'ML' that is marked as leave with pay with benefits for the first 30 days.
--During this period of time they will receive regular pay - No leave tracking in Banner/Kronos
--After the 30 days the status will be changed to Leave with pay without benefits, if the person is entitled to differential pay for any period of involuntary service when the military base pay is less than the employee's annual salary.  The rate will be setup on the job.  No leave tracking in Banner/Kronos
2. Military leave without pay is granted for one enlistment period of service, not to exceed four years.
