How do I know if my Mac machine is encrypted with FileVault?

1. Select Apple menu () > System Preferences, then click Security & Privacy.
2. Click the FileVault tab.
3. Your machine is encrypted if your screen states that FileVault is turned on and that the recovery key has been set.
