Faculty and Staff: No level 1-3 data can be stored on personal computers; see the Guideline for Data Handling. Mobile devices used to access university information resources are at increased risk of data exposure due to loss, theft or compromise.  To mitigate this risk, additional safeguards must be used. Beginning July 1, 2018, H drives are no longer provisioned for new student accounts. Students can request H drives for here. Students do have access to Google Drive for cloud-based storage.

  1. Download and install the Cisco AnyConnect VPN
  2. Connect to the VPN

  3. Follow the instructions below:

    Windows 11Windows 10
    1. Go to Start and click Computer
    2. Click Map Network Drive
    3. From the Drive drop down menu, select the corresponding drive letter (H:, J:, S:)
    4. Enter the correct folder location:
      1. For H: drive: Type in \\filer.uncc.edu\home\username (replace < username > with your NinerNET username)
      2. For J: and S: drive: Type in \\filer.uncc.edu\dept

    5. Click Finish
    6. When the Enter network credentials windows comes up, type in unccharlotte-nt\username
      (replace < username > with your NinerNET username) and your NinerNET password

    1. Click OK
    1. Open File Explorer
    2. Right click on the Network section and click Map Network Drive

    3. From the Drive drop down menu, select the corresponding drive letter (H:, J:, S:)
    4. Enter the correct folder location:
      1. For H: drive: Type in \\filer.uncc.edu\home\username (replace < username > with your NinerNET username)
      2. For J: and S: drive: Type in \\filer.uncc.edu\dept
    5. Click Finish
    6. When the Enter network credentials windows comes up, type in unccharlotte-nt\username
      (replace < username > with your NinerNET username) and your NinerNET password

    7. Click OK
