1. Verify that Banner and Perceptive Content are open
  2. When linking, Banner should be the only item/tab opened in Google Chrome
  3. Verify that your have the correct Application Plan selected in Perceptive Content (i.e. 49er Mart CH).  Google Chrome application plans end in CH

Linking is only available in the desktop client. Linking is the process of creating an association between captured objects inside of Perceptive Content using the Key feature and records inside your host application. For example, scanning a Paper Document and linking it to a Banner student record. 

  1. Close any open sessions of Google Chrome and Perceptive Content
    1. Right click on the Google Chrome shortcut on the taskbar and click Close all windows OR
    2. Press the Windows key + R, then type powershell and click the OK button
      1. Copy and paste the following: get-process -name Chrome | stop-process then press the Enter key.
  2. Update Chrome Property Settings
    1. Locate the Google Chrome shortcut on your desktop (or task bar)
    2. Right Google Chrome Shortcut and go to Properties
    3. Copy and paste the appropriate path in the Target field of Google Chrome Properties Shortcut tab
      1. "C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --disable-features=AccessibilityRestrictiveIA2AXModes
        1. Click the Apply button

        2. Click Continue and Yes to accept changes to your computer
        3. Click OK button to save and close Google Properties

      2. If you receive the following error message after clicking the Apply button

        Failure to Update Target

        If you receive the following error message, please use the other path provided:

        1. Uninstall and Reinstall Google Chrome from the Software Center
        2. Copy and paste the appropriate path in the Target field of Google Chrome Properties Shortcut tab
        3. "C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --disable-features=AccessibilityRestrictiveIA2AXModes
        4. Click the Apply button

        5. Click Continue and Yes to accept changes to your computer
        6. Click OK button to save and close Google Properties

  3. Optional: Execute Chrome using the Command Prompt
    1. Go to the Search feature on your taskbar and type cmd to open a command prompt
    2. Click on the Command Prompt App Icon
    3. Copy and paste the appropriate path, then click the Enter key
      1. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --disable-features=AccessibilityRestrictiveIA2AXModes  OR
      2. "C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --disable-features=AccessibilityRestrictiveIA2AXModes

        Command Prompt: Incorrect Path

        1. This did not work as it rendered the error: The system cannot find the path

        Note: It doesn't matter what your initial path. For example, C:\Users\username> or H:\Documents\etc>

        Command Prompt: Correct Path

        1. This one worked as it brings you back to the directory prompt with no error and opens a Chrome browser. 

        Note: It doesn't matter what your initial path. For example, C:\Users\username> or H:\Documents\etc>

      3. Close the Command Prompt window by clicking the red X in the top right corner of the screen
  4. Following your normal steps to link a document
    1. Open Perceptive Content
    2. Open Banner (or other Application) in Google Chrome
    3. Link Document
