  • Below are some tools that are available through UNC Charlotte, or free from the indicated company. Faculty and students are able to use any of the below to create online presentations or video assignments for class.
Application Primary Use 
Kaltura Capture 
  • Can be used to pre-record automatically captioned videos to share with students
  • Youtube videos may also be inserted into Kaltura to avoid the typical ad watching requirements
  • Quizzes can be made within every video uploaded
ScreenCast-O-Matic 
  • Allows for pre-recorded video with a look and "feel" similar to Camtasia 
Zoom
  • Creates a space to host synchronous sessions with your students simply by sharing a meeting link with them 
  • Has screen sharing and recording capabilities 
WebEx
  • Creates a space to host synchronous sessions with your students simply by sharing a meeting link with them 
  • Has screen sharing and recording capabilities 
PowerPoint 
  • Share your presentation with voice over for asynchronous learning 
FlipGrid
  • Allows faculty to create "grids" to facilitate video discussions
  • Each grid is like a message board where teachers can pose questions, called "topics"
  • Students can post video responses that appear in a tiled grid display

Adobe Spark

  • Can make aesthetically pleasing presentations and videos 
  • Asynchronous and synchronous capabilities 
  • Utilizes Google Slides to make presentations 
Apple iMovie
  • Produces high quality video
  • Carries full video editing privileges
